Updated: June 2026
TaleBud is an educational app for children to learn to read, meant to be used with the supervision of a parent or guardian. Privacy comes first.
What data we handle
- On your device: by default, the child's name, age, avatar, progress, created stories and settings are stored only in the device's browser (local storage). We don't sell them.
- Optional account (sync): if an adult creates an account, that profile and progress data is stored securely with our provider (Supabase) to sync across devices. Only the adult's email is used to identify the account; never for advertising. You can delete the account and its data at any time.
- AI generation: to create a story, we send the child's idea or drawing to AI providers that generate or interpret the text. We don't use that data for advertising.
- Sharing a story: if an adult chooses to share a story via link, only the story content (title and pages) is stored — no name or personal data of the child.
What we DON'T do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell or share data with third parties for commercial purposes.
- We don't build advertising profiles of children.
Children
TaleBud is designed to be used with the consent and supervision of a responsible adult. Parents can delete all data at any time from the parents' area (“Reset progress”) or by clearing browser data.
Your rights
Since data is stored on the device (or in your account if you create one), you control it: you can view, edit or delete it whenever you want from the app itself, the browser, or by deleting your account.
Changes
We may update this policy. We'll post any relevant changes here.
